Ciudad Perdida (pt. 1)

When’s the last time you were fully present with yourself? When you were in flow? When every single moment called for your complete awareness and intention?

Traveling can be like that. It can ask you to be aware, to take in all the new, to be flexible, and to blow your perspective out of the water! Traveling opens the eyes and the heart.

I recently went on a trip to Colombia that reminded me of our dual mission here on Earth. Yes, on one side, we are here to share our gifts in service. We all have been given unique talents so we can give of ourselves. Some are here to invoke change. This is not our ONLY mission.

We also have a responsibility to ourselves, and a contract with the Universe, to RECEIVE! To allow ourselves to receive and channel the life force that connects us all. Everything in this life has duality, even our purposes.

The dual mission is to uplift others AND be lifted up!

It’s to create your reality AND channel the Universal life force.

It’s to speak our truth AND listen.

It’s to take action AND to be still.

It’s knowing when to do all this things AND embrace the unknown.

It’s to call in our power AND surrender.

All while we witness AND experience this thing called L I F E….

Ciudad Perdid (The Lost City) is in the Sierra Nevada mountains in northern Colombia. We booked a guided tour with Expotur. This was a 4 day trek through the mountains to the Lost City and back out. We were on foot the whole time and stopped at camps to eat, shower, and sleep. During this hike, we had to be aware of every single step taken, every foot print in the mud, every rock, and stream, and cliff… It called for complete awareness and intention. It was truly incredible and the jungle is an effective teacher. (There is more to come on the Lost City trek and the Colombia trip - Stay tuned.)

I needed this trip. I need the perspective flip. I needed a closing of a chapter and an opening of ME. Thank you so much to Sophia Carolina Travels for curating a trip that fulfilled me so much that I’m still riding that wave! You fit more than I could have expected in just 15 days. Our gift to each other?… 15 days full of unforgettable memories! Te amo y muchas gracias hermana!

Big thanks and shout out to Expotur for creating such an amazing experience, supporting the indigenous Colombian people with fairness and respect, and bringing beauty out of the jungle for the world to see, (or for those brave enough to take the trek).

Beyond grateful to have the dopest hiking group and THE VERY BEST TOUR GUIDES!!!! Shout out to Daniel & Abe who literally held our hands helping us along several parts of this journey. Thank you to all the angels in the forest coming out of the trees in divine time.

Mostly, thank you to the Lost City. To the people who once built a home and a life on fertile land there high up in the mountains overlooking the sea. What was your story? And gratitude to the jungle for preserving this ancient city site for 1600 years, so us adventurers can explore with wonder and awe today. I felt powerful energy there in the Earth, in the air.

Someone in Colombia had commented, “there’s a certain kindness where the mountains meet the ocean.” I have to admit, I agree.
